"How to Judge Divisional/Varga Chart - Hora"

The divisional chart 'Hora' i.e. the D-II is studied for analysing the position of wealth in one's life. Hora is ruled by either the Sun or the Moon. In D-II the planets are placed only in the hora of the Sun and the Moon. The planets in the hora of the Sun bless the native with affluences (wealth) to a greater extent in comparison to the planets in the hora of the Moon.

The second house rules the wealth. If the second house does not contain a moolatrikona sign then the wealth is ruled by the fourth house; if the fourth house does not contain a moolatrikona sign then the wealth is ruled by the ninth house; and if the ninth house, too, does not contain a moolatrikona sign then the wealth is ruled by the lord of the ascendant. From the signs Aries to Pisces the planets, the Moon, the Sun, the Moon, the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Venus, Jupiter, the Sun, Saturn, Venus and Mars become the prime indicators of wealth in seriatim. Venus is general significator for accumulated wealth.

In addition to the strength of the lord of the second house ruling wealth and the significator for wealth Venus in the birth chart, the results are dependant on two-fold strength i.e. the strength of the planets the Sun and the Moon in whose hora various other planets are placed and the strength of the planets other than the Sun and the Moon.

During the operational periods of planets placed in the hora of the Sun as also of the Sun, itself, a person earns and accumulates wealth by his efforts. However, the extent of earning and accumulations is solely dependent on the strength of the concerned planets. During the planets placed in the hora of the Moon and the Moon, itself, the earning and accumulations come naturally without much effort but are solely dependent on the strength of the concerned planets. The study of hora is taken up along with second house of the natal chart and the significator for wealth, Jupiter. The close influence of functional benefic planets with lord of the second house, significator for wealth and the lord of the ascendant in the hora chart harnesses the wealth of the native in the main/sub-periods of the concerned planets.

The sign Aquarius rises in the ascendant and the Moon, Mercury, Rahu and Ketu are functional malefic planets. There is no moolatrikona sign in the second and fourth houses. The wealth, in this case, is ruled by the ninth house. The functional benefic planet, Jupiter, is closely conjunct with the most effective point of the seventh houses and closely aspects the most effective points of the eleventh, first and third houses. Jupiter is the lord of the eleventh house ruling income. Jupiter is a planet of affluence as it is connected with treasury. Jupiter in this case is posited in a royal sign, Leo. The combinations for wealth and income seem to be quite good and indicate significant developments in the life. The weak and debilitated Moon ruling the sixth house and signifying financial position and health is closely conjunct with Rahu. Mercury is strong in the nativity indicating that the native has good chances of for easy and sudden earnings. The lord of the ninth house and the general significator of wealth, Venus, is strong in the chart and is in the ninth house indicating comforts, luxuries and good fortune. The lord of the ascendant is also well-placed in the ninth house. The lord of the seventh house is weak as it is in its sign of debilitation and is in the state of infancy. It is well-placed in the ninth house.

Let us examine Hora, the D-II. Most of the planets are posited in the hora of the Sun, meaning thereby that the native works for increase of wealth. From fifteenth year of life, the native had main period of Venus, which is in the hora of the Moon. The native held such appointments, which provided him easy income. In the natal chart the Sun and the Moon lose strength because of their occupying the signs of the debilitations. In a case where the Sun or the Moon is under the close influence of Rahu, the native cares less for the means to accumulate the wealth. The lord of the ninth occupying ninth house had its time early in life, which helped the native to accumulate sizeable wealth in its period.

The sign Taurus rises in the ascendant and Venus, Jupiter, Mars, Rahu and Ketu are the functional malefic planets. There is no moolatrikona sign in the second house. In such a case the wealth is ruled by the fourth house. Mercury is weak as it is placed in the state of old-age and occupies the fourth house in the royal sign Leo. The fourth house is ruled by the Sun and the Sun is placed in the fourth house, itself. The Sun is weak as it is under the close aspect and influence of Rahu from the twelfth house. Jupiter being ruler of inheritance in this case, is well-placed in the chart and is not involved in close afflictions. This gave a large inheritance to the native in the form of wealth. The significator for wealth, Venus, is a functional malefic planet in this nativity but is not causing any close affliction and is well-placed in the second house. The native during the course of his professional career earned and accumulated fabulous wealth amounting to millions of rupees.

In the main chart the position of the Sun is good but the influence of Rahu is not good. Under such an influence the natives care less for the established norms of the society. The Moon, too, enjoys strength and it is posited in the second house.

During the main period of the Saturn in the hora of the Sun, the native worked for earning money and a lot of wealth came in without matching efforts. Saturn falls in the hora of the Sun.
