The Moon, Mercury, Mars and the second, fourth and ninth houses are suffering from utter weakness. The basic weakness of Mercury and the Moon, both ruling lungs, caused sufferings to the native. Mercury rules the fourth house in the nativity and the Moon is the general significator for the lungs. The weakness of prime determinant of lungs in the nativity caused the sufferings to the native by way of the chronic disease of asthma in addition to the frequent other indispositions.

The native of this chart suffered from diabetes from the early young age i.e. from the main period of the Sun and the sub-period of Jupiter.

The sign Sagittarius rises in the ascendant and the Moon, Rahu and Ketu become functional malefic planets. The ascendant contains the mooltrikona sign of Jupiter, who occupies its debilitation sign both in main and navamsa charts. Jupiter is additionally weak as it is in the state of infancy. The Moon is also weak as it is in the state of infancy. Venus is in the state of old age and is in its debilitation sign in shashthamsa. Jupiter rules liver. The most malefic planet closely afflicts the most effective points of the fourth and tenth houses.

The significator for vitality is weak as it is in the state of old age and is in the eighth house in the natal chart. The fifth lord, Mars, occupies the twelfth house in the shashthamsa. The shashthamsa ascendant is occupied by debilitated Venus. The planets Jupiter, the Sun and Venus are utterly weak besides other afflictions explained above. There are combinations of both poor functioning of the liver as well as the poor functioning of the kidneys ruled by Venus. The Moon, who rules functions in the body in general, is also weak. Strengthening of Jupiter, Sun and Venus can prove very useful in such a case.

The lord of the ascendant becoming prime determinant of health is weak as its dispositor is weak and is closely afflicted by the close conjunction of the lord of the twelfth house. The lord of the fifth house along with the weak significator for vitality, the Sun, are weak because of their bad placement. The Sun is in the state of infancy. Rahu-Ketu axis closely afflicts Mercury curtailing longevity. Saturn is in its sign of debilitation in navamsa. No moolatrikona sign rises in shashthamsa ascendant. The Sun and Jupiter are in their sign of debilitation in the shashthamsa.

The weakness of the fifth lord, the significator for vitality, the Sun, the debilitation of Mars in the natal chart and afflictions of weak Venus and Mercury clearly tell about the status of health of the native.

The native suffered from diseases of stomach and liver for a number of years before his death at the age of 35 years. Two or more than two combinations/significators becoming weak and afflicted make the disease chronic and aggravate the situation in proportion to the afflictions. The afflictions would be more severe if all factors i.e. the house, its lord, the significator, the ascendant of the corresponding divisional chart and natural sign of the zodiac are weak and/or afflicted.

This child developed hydrocephalus due to excessive secretion of cerebrospinal fluid (csf) by the brain villae. CSF works as a shock absorber as well as nutrient supplier to the brain tissue. During the sub-period of Venus, the child was operated upon twice for draining out excessive CSF. The sub-period of the Sun did not pose a problem. During the sub-period of the Moon, the child was operated once. During the sub-period of Rahu, the child was operated upon 5 times. The excessive fluid was drained out from fontanelle (where brain bones unite) due to affliction of the first house. As an alternative, it could have been drained out through spinal cord, as well.

By merely looking at this chart we can derive that the first part of the body is highly afflicted. Rahu, the notorious malefic is in close conjunction with the lord of the ascendant, Venus, and the Moon. The Moon is weak as it is closely afflicted by the functional malefic planets, Rahu and Ketu. Venus is weak due to the weakness of its dispositor. Mars is weak as it is badly placed in the chart. The lord of the twelfth house, Mercury, is weak due to its being in the state of infancy. Both Jupiter and Saturn are weak as they are badly placed and are under the close affliction of Ketu. Saturn is debilitated in navamsa. The weakness and close afflictions tell upon the longevity of the person.

In shashthamsa the lord of the ascendant of shashthamsa, the Moon is debilitated and is associated with the functional malefic Rahu and Ketu. The lord of the ascendant of the natal chart is in the sixth house of the shashthamsa.

As both Venus and the Moon having close conjunction with Rahu, are watery and occupy a watery sign the disease had relationship with fluids. The next question is when? The main period of badly placed and afflicted Saturn in conjunction with closely afflicted Jupiter from birth indicates disease from the birth and obstructions in the proper growth. The sub-period in operation at the time of the birth was that of the highly afflicted lord of the ascendant, Venus.

This is a very peculiar chart, indeed. The sign Capricorn rises in the ascendant and the Sun, Jupiter, Rahu and Ketu become functional malefic planets. The Sun becomes the prime determinant for the health. Saturn is weak as it is placed in the state of infancy though in its sign of exaltation. The dispositor of Saturn is combust and under the close affliction of the functional malefic planets, the Sun and Jupiter. Saturn is debilitated in shashthamsa. Mercury, Jupiter and Venus are combust. Mercury is also weak as its dispositor is afflicted and weak. The weak Mercury is exactly under the affliction of Rahu from the sixth house. The Moon is weak as it is badly placed in the chart and is under the close affliction of the functional malefic planet, Jupiter. The badly placed Mars is in close conjunction with Ketu in the twelfth house. The weakness of almost all the planets and affliction of Mars, Moon, Mercury and Venus, ruined the health of the native. The significator for vitality, the Sun, is in its sign of debilitation.

In shashthamsa Venus, which is highly afflicted and combust, becomes the lord of the ascendant. The child had a short life span and the ending part of the main period of Jupiter proved to be fatal.

The child kept ill health almost persistently. The body resistance was very low. Jupiter, whose mooltrikona sign falls in the twelfth house, had its main period since birth. During the Mercury's sub-period the child suffered from diseases of the respiratory canal, congestion of lungs, etc. Ketu's sub-period caused suffering by way of boils, fever, etc. The sub-period of afflicted Venus gave a sluggish liver and jaundice. During the sub-period of Venus all afflictions and weakness in the sign Libra started manifesting. It was indicated in the first edition of this book. The weak digestion and indifferent health retarded the overall growth of the native and shortened the lifespan. The reasons were attributed to Mercury, the significator for the nervous system; Venus, the significator for the venous system; debilitation of the Sun, the significator for vitality, and the weakness and affliction of the Moon and Mars.
