PART III-A:Fore-Noon Session on the Second Day [March 13th ]:

Professor Choudhry Firstly Spoke On ‘When Astrologers are Called to Prognosticate all Areas of Life’, Illustrating the Same With Some Highly Pertinent CSs:

This was followed by: Dr Johnathan Miller’s Presentation in Medical Astrology: ‘Mercury, The Pandemic of Auto-Immune Disease’& Healing Through The SA Remedial Measures’:

One of the hall-marks of all the SA Conference-Sessions was the pattern of not a minute being wasted on topics, unconnected with the Conference themes. On the morning of the Second Day, Professor Choudhry, straightaway announced that Dr Johnathan Miller will discourse on his CSs in Medical Astrology. Prior to this, Dr Miller had quite casually asked me, if I thought it would be interesting for the delegates to hear him speak on the role of Mercury in the current Pandemic of ‘Auto Immune Disease’. I told him plainly that he need have no doubts about this, as all the delegates were bound to be very interested, since it concerned health, and the SA-both of which surely ought to be very dear to all gathered.

Placing the new theme: ‘Astrologers are often called upon by Society to comment on various happenings in various spheres of life’; before the house; Professor Choudhry, proceeded to bring this into full relief, by going on to provide an SA analysis of the recent catastrophic Earth Quake-Tsunami in Japan. This was the first of the new illustrative CSs that he took up in this session.

CS#1: [Natal Chart of Japan (Post War Constitution): 3rd May, 1947, 00Hrs, TZ=-9HrsEast, Tokyo (139ºE45?, 35ºN40?)]

It was on the 12th of March, that the Tsunami had suddenly struck Japan-it was in the news constantly, so because of the calamity ‘having hit’ world consciousness, the Professor chose to throw light upon it. In the Capricorn Asdt Natal Chart of Japan, the Sa-Ju sub-period was running. He stressed that the ‘exact’ Tr affliction caused by Ra-Ke axis to six out of the 12 Hs, and Tr Ra’s affliction from the XIIH of losses to Me, placed in the IVH, was very serious and that it also transmitted this affliction to the Mo, which was placed in Me’s MTS. It may also be noted that the malefic sub-period Lord Tr Ju, also afflicted the Natal Mo, representing the masses[SA Sutra in Mundane Astrology], as well as Natal strong Ve exactly. SA also says, the XIIH Lord Ju, signifies, “Financial losses, expenditures, mishaps, group hospitalizations, wars….” [See Pg 282, V K Choudhry and K Rajesh Chaudhary: ‘Systems Approach for Interpreting Horoscopes’, Fourth Ed, 2006].

Professor Choudhry emphasized that ‘The Ra-Ke Tr affliction to the axis of the VIH-XIIH, always creates, a multi-faceted impact’[SA Sutra].Even Tr Sa was ‘closely’ afflicted by Malefic Ju. Additionally, Natal Ju closely afflicted Tr Su, while Tr Ra afflicted the MTH of the MMP, and the IVH, where the Natal MMP was placed. We may note that in the SA [in Mundane Astrology], the VIIIH is connected to obstructions, accidents, floods, earthquakes, cyclones, storms, etc [Pg 282, Ibid].

Professor bemoaned the fact that in contemporary society, Governments do not take the stand to support astrologers, but that, astrologers must nevertheless express their views, as and when called for. Summing up, he said, the Ju sub-period portends losses, especially because, in the Natal Chart, Ju is seen to cause close afflictions to the house of gains. He further clarified, in reply to a Q from one of the delegates that this affliction from Natal Ju, along with Natal Ke’s ‘exact’ affliction to Natal Sa, spells vulnerability to losses and big disasters, in the national life of Japan [SA Sutra].”

The analytical power of the SA was further illustrated by him, through yet another TSE [another catastrophic earthquake] in the national life of Japan. It occurred on Sept 1st, 1923, when a stupendous figure of something like 1, 30, 000, of her people suddenly perished in that natural disaster. As we checked the TSE, to which the Professor was pointing, we found Tr Ra in the Most Malefic VIIIH, afflicting ‘closely’ Tr Su, the VIIIH Lord, and concurrently, Tr Ra from the VIIIH also afflicted Natal Su in the IVH. Tr Ju afflicted Tr Mo in the IVH, and Tr Su also afflicted Tr Ve in the VIIIH. By the SA Sutra, given above, connecting natural disasters to the VIIIH Lord, we can well appreciate the magnitude of the calamity in the national life of Japan.

Seeing Professor Choudhry work out these TSEs [Transit Significant Events] over the Natal Chart of Japan, at a time, which is prior to the time when Japan took birth as a nation, I asked the Professor, how we may justify this approach? Immediately, the Professor clarified this point: “One can see Transits even though the Transits happened, before the Chart took birth. For example, in the Charts of children, the fate of the father can be seen, even during a time frame, preceding the birth of the child. “[SA Sutra].This therefore appears to be an extremely significant Sutra.

At this point in his discourse, Dr Johnathan Miller asked the Professor, ‘If we could see the TSEs, corresponding to the Atom Bombs being dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki [August 6th and 9th, respectively, in 1945]?’.Professor had a new model Android phone, which could connect to the Internet instantly, so he retrieved the dates of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki disasters from the InterNet, instantly and showed the TSEs.

CS#2: [India’s Natal Chart, 15th Aug 1947, 00Hrs, TZ=-5:30Hrs, New Delhi (77ºE12?, 28ºN36?)]

Turning to the much more familiar Chart of India, the Professor pointed out that: ‘Five Planets placed in the IIIH of communications, with Ke’s affliction to their Dispositor, the Mo [also Placed therein], made India vulnerable to accidents involving Railways, Roadways, and even Airways’ [SA Sutra].

Referring to the period Nov, Dec 2010, & Jan 2011{Su-Ma, and Su-Ra sub-period}, when there was a TSA [Transit Stationary Affliction] created by the Tr St Nodes on India’s Natal Chart, when they had become stationary around 8º 40?, for months on end; he mentioned that he had predicted ‘a series of scams’ in the SAMVA Group, as the Nodes had become stationary on the MEP of the IIH and also on Ma, which was right on the IIH MEP.

Professor Choudhry reproduced the entire list of scams, for our benefit:

He explained that a TSA on Ma, gave losses in reputation, and losses to the National Exchequer.

One of the delegates [Sri Deepak Kapoor], posed the most thought-provoking Q to the Professor, as to whether remedial measures, performed by any country [India in particular], can tone down the afflictions in the country’s Natal Chart?

This was a very momentous Q in this Conference, because it brought forth the following most amazing A, from the Professor. One could see at once, how the great work of the Professor, has started affecting the collective consciousness of India, and even begun to soften the severity of the afflictions in her Natal Chart:

“When an old disputed structure referred by some as Babri Masjid was demolished in Ayodhya in 1992, an aide of the then PM at his instance had consulted me, as to what may be done, to improve the dangerous situation and bring in communal harmony? On the basis of the horoscope of the PM, I recommended the welfare schemes for poor school children [Mercury remedial measure], and welfare schemes for senior citizens [Rahu and Ke remedial measure]. Mid-day meal scheme for poor children was launched about a year thereafter starting from Rohtak. The welfare schemes suggested, in fact, are also part of the social welfare even without the astral advice. Today, in 2010, there is still continuing a sizeable budgetary allocation towards these Mercury, Ra and Ke Charities-an allocation, originally set in motion by the then PM. Results were also manifest.”

Moving to an entire different theme, the Professor touched the topic of ‘Horoscope Matching’, as that is usually, one of the ‘open doors’ through which people walk into an astrologer’s consulting room. The method of analysis he gave was very pithy: “See both the Charts independently, advice Remedial Measures for each Chart. If one Chart is afflicted, then the other Chart, must have good placements for the continuity of marriage.”[SA Sutra on ‘Horoscope Matching’].This seems to imply that, the spouse, offers ‘karmic sustenance’ in a marital alliance.

CS#3: [ 25th Nov, 1981, 23:30Hrs, Delhi (77ºE13?,28ºN40?)]

He took up this typical CS [of a lady], which had come for ‘Marital Alliance’. It was a Leo Asdt Chart, in which Me, the Lord of the IIH of ‘family cohesion’, was doubly afflicted, by Ra, as well as ‘exactly’ by the MMP, the Mo. Ra also caused an ‘exact’ affliction to the MMP, Mo. Fortunately, at least the Asdt Lord, the Su was strong. Professor Choudhry, passed the truthful, but rather ‘merciless’ verdict: “No chance of survival of marriage in this case, not only because of Ra’s affliction to Mo and Me [both Marriage Lords], but also because, Ve was also closely afflicted. Even the chance of a marriage was not bright.” We may recall that in the SA, as Sa, is the PD of the spouse, through the mechanism of ‘The Dispositor’s Affliction’, Sa is also too weak to manifest a spouse in real life.

He then showed the Chart of a proposed match for this lady who came ‘on the cards’.

CS#4: [9th May, 1979, 19:52Hrs, TZ=-5:30Hrs, (77ºE13?, 28ºN40?)]

The Professor held that, “Marriage can be successful in this case, with the help of the continued Remedial Measures.” It was a Scorpio Asdt Chart, with the MEP at 6º 32?, and Natal Ju, ruling the IIH of family cohesion, was exalted in the house of fortune, and closely blessed the Asdt MEP. Saturn the lord of the fourth house is well placed. However, Ju and Saturn both, still suffered from that weakness, rooted in that factor, which can often be missed: ‘The Dispositor’s Affliction’. Yet-and this is where the Professor’s insights are so very significant, he straightaway offered hope, that the marriage can be successful with the help of exercising of patience and astral remedies. The decision was also taken in view of the expected difficulties in the case of the lady whose chart has been discussed previous to this chart.

One of the delegates [probably Sri Praveen Tyagi, or Sri Deepak Kapoor] raised the Q-‘Won’t the affliction to the Su from Ra, and the affliction to Me, both in the VIH, be factors of hindrance?’ As practicing SA astrologers could have surmised, Professor emphasized that: “These afflictions to Me and the Su, will only negatively affect the profession, but not marital life.”[SA Sutra].

Turning to the delegates, Professor Choudhry, having set the mood for the session, asked them also to come up with more interesting CSs, which could similarly be discussed threadbare. So, Sri Rajesh Hasija presented the foll Chart of a ‘Chief Librarian’, who was otherwise a very difficult person to deal with:

CS#5: [16th Dec, 1963, 20:50Hrs, TZ=-5:30Hrs, (77ºE13?, 28ºN40?)]

In an aside, I am impelled to say that SA astrologers, who know ‘what is what’, could well break out into peals of laughter, the moment their eyes fall on a Chart such as this. I am saying this, with absolutely no malice or intention to demonize, but only out of a sense of stupefaction at the sometimes, ‘eccentric designs’, the Cosmic Weaver of human destinies is churning out, by the utterly ‘capricious’ ‘jerks and swings’ of his ‘Nine Shuttles’, which astrologers in India, know to be the ‘Navagraha Devatas’.

We are seeing no less than 6 Planets placed in the VIH, with their Dispositor, VIH Lord Ju placed on the MEP of the IXH, and creating in this process, a ‘bull’s-eye’ affliction to the Asdt MEP, and the IIIH and VH too. Sa, the MMP was placed in the VIIH. To add to the difficulties created by such placements, there is also the Ra-Ke Nodal Affliction to the axis of the XIIH-VIH, etc.

Sri Rajesh Hasija brought this Chart to the Conference, mainly to emphasize that, this excessive concentration in the VIH and further affliction by the VIH Lord, had caused him to undergo a marital separation, on account of his uncontrollable quarrelsome nature. At this juncture, though we may know that the influence of the VIH Lord on the Asdt, or placement in the VIH, leads to all sorts of troubles; let us take delight in savoring this truth, in the form given by the Professor on Pg 287 of Systems Approach for Interpreting Horoscopes: “The VIH deals with conflicts, challenges, disputes, health and financial position. The Planet ruling the VIH signifies haste, lack of patience, and aggressive attitude.”[SA Sutra]

The next CS was that of Sri Rakesh Shukla, who cited an individual, who was in a stalemate, where progenic fructification was concerned.

CS#6: [Man’s Chart: Capricorn Asdt [MEP=21º33?]: 25th March, 1971, 4:00Hrs, TZ=-5:30Hrs, Bulandshahar (77ºE24’, 28ºN34?)]

CS#7: [His Wife’s Chart: Taurus Asdt Chart [MEP= [23º03?]:6th June, 1973, 5:30AM, TZ=-5:30Hrs, (77ºE41?, 28ºN59?)]

Their first child [a girl] was now 13 yrs old, but thereafter, the wife had two abortions, and a third, ‘seemingly fruitful’ pregnancy, which alas also suffered a failure, through fetal strangulation. This means that she had three unsuccessful pregnancies. The man’s Chart, showed a weak Progeny Lord, Sa, which was deb and its dispositor was also badly placed in the XIIH. When Professor Choudhry learnt that the man has started doing the Remedial Measures, since about a year, but that the lady had started on the Remedial Measures, only since the last three months, he declared that the pattern of the three unfruitful pregnancies, will not repeat itself, if the Remedial Measures are undertaken by the lady in all sincerity. He pointed out that in the man’s Chart, Ve is suffering a Nodal affliction, whereas in the health DC [D6] of the lady, [in spite of her having a strong VH Lord, Me] her Ve is afflicted by the MMP, and the Asdt and Su [VIIH Lord] in that DC [D6] is also afflicted.

This brought the Fore Noon Session of the Second Day conducted by the Professor to the Tea Break. After the Tea Break, Dr Johnathan Miller spoke on the already mentioned theme in Medical Astrology, and I shall cover that in the Next number, PART III-B.
