The scientific study of planetary influences is made through empirically tested predictive techniques which are universally applicable in all cases made for a person born in any part of the world. The planetary influences in the birth chart are studied in a systematic manner.
The horoscope (birth chart) is made with the help of the date of birth, place of birth and the time of birth. The important aspect of the birth chart is the ascending sign. The horoscope contains twelve houses. Some houses are good and some houses are bad. The ascending sign is in the first house. The bad houses are those houses, which rule financial difficulties, conflicts, diseases, obstructions, death, expenses and losses. The planets are placed in different houses. The planets placed in the bad houses (i) are in difficulty and cannot help the person and (ii) become weak and afflicted and cause problems to the person. When these weak planets are functional benefic planets, they need strengthening for showing better results.
The ascending sign helps us in knowing (i) the nature of various planets and (ii) the impact of various planets on the life. The planetary influences in a birth chart (horoscope) are studied through the (i) planetary conjunctions (proximity of the planets), (ii) the interaction of planets through their aspects, and (iii) the placements of planets in various houses of the horoscope.
The planetary influences in the birth chart are read in conjunction with the current planetary influences (transit) with reference to the ascending sign. The conjunctions and aspects help us in identifying the auspicious and inauspicious planetary configurations. The placement of a planet in a particular house links the significations of the house ruled by it with the significations of its house of placement. For example, if the planet ruling peace in relationships is placed in the house of disputes it manifests in the form of conflicts in relationship matters. A planet placed in a malefic (bad) house indicates suffering for the significations ruled by the said planet in the nativity.
The planets are strong, weak and afflicted. The strong planets bring good results and progress. The weak planets cause delays, cause problems, denials and disappointments. The influence of planets ruling bad houses on other planets makes them afflicted planets. The weak and afflicted planets cause setbacks, disappointments, depression and tragedies. The planets bless with their results as per their strength in their sub periods. Short terms obstructions and problems are given by the transit movement of planets.
We have two sets of planets - Functional benefic planets and functional malefic planets.
The functional benefic planets when strong give us very good results for the significations ruled by them. When the functional benefic planets are fairly strong they give good results pertaining to the significations ruled by them.
When the functional malefic planets are strong and they are not influencing other planets / houses closely, they also give us good results pertaining to their significations.
When the functional benefic or malefic planets are weak they become source of problems for the significations ruled by them during the course of transit afflictions.
When the functional malefic planets closely influence other planets, they cause harm to the significations of the planet under their close influence.
Long term results are shown by sub period results while the short term results are shown by transit influences. The transit influences supersede the sub period results.
Each planet rule some general significations and the significations of a particular house in the birth chart. The general significations of the Sun are father, heart, digestion, vitality, profession, organizing capability, leadership capability and soul. The general significations of the Moon are mother, mental peace, health in infancy, lungs, immunization power, public relations, home management and soothing. The general significations of Mars is courage, strength, muscles, younger brother and stamina. The general significations of Mercury is analytical power, speech, friends, nervous system, intestinal function, sharp intellect and confidence. The general significations of Jupiter is knowledge, wisdom, male child, liver, elder brother, husband, advisory capability, etc. The general significations of Venus is beauty, comforts, aesthetic sense, wife, knowledge, life saving knowledge and renal functioning. The general significations of Saturn are mass management, serving management, hard working, researchers, functioning of joints and longevity. The general significations of Rahu are manipulations, ambitiousness, aggressiveness, greed, encroachment, chronic health problems, malignant growth and drugs. The general significations of Ketu are spiritual pursuits, setbacks, misfortunes, high fevers, bone fractures and sudden problems in life. When the planets are weak their general significations suffer and the person suffers losses and stress in life.
The horoscope tells us the periods and the types of sufferings we are likely to face, right at birth. The impact of unfavorable planetary influences can be reduced by performance of propitiatory (peace making) astrological remedial measures. These remedies will reduce the sufferings.
The incidence of delays, setbacks and denials is the result of the weak and/or afflicted planets in the birth chart. Such impacts can be dealt with to a large extent by strengthening of birth weak/afflicted planets.
In this background, we study the strength and impact of planets.
1. We identify the functional nature of planets.
2. We identify the strength of planets
3. We identify the relationship of planets through conjunctions, aspects and placements.
4. We find out the current sub period and analyze its results.
5. We examine the current triple transit in the birth chart.
For example, let us take up a horoscope of a person born in April, 1967.
The sign Capricorn rises in the ascendant. Saturn, Mars, the Moon, Mercury and Venus become functional benefic / favorable planets. The Sun, Jupiter, Rahu and Ketu become functional malefic / unfavorable planets. Saturn and Mercury act Sun-like planets and give magnified results for their significations. The most effective point of houses in this example chart is 19 degrees and 48 minutes. None of the functional malefic planets afflicts any of the houses closely. The persons born in this ascending sign enjoy pursuing technical and professional knowledge. When the planets the Venus, Saturn, Moon and Mercury are well placed and fairly strong in the birth chart they acquire good qualifications. They become advisors, officers with government, finance manager and attorneys. They enjoy good positions in the society. A fairly strong Mars blesses them with wealthy parents and gains through properties. We discuss the strength of planets in the example birth chart hereunder.
Saturn is the lord of the second house. It rules wealth, status, family, male child, professional success and speech. It is placed in the third house ruling courage, communications and enterprises. Saturn is fairly strong in the birth chart. It blesses the person with good education, good family, good wealth and good professional success. It helps in relationship matters. The person gets the benefit of pleasant speech. There is lot of social recognition. The person is a successful medical doctor.
Mars rules the fourth house in the birth chart. It rules the mother, education, properties, vehicles, mental peace and happiness in relationships. It is placed in the tenth house ruling professional matters. Mars is weak as it is in infancy. It is well placed in the birth chart but it is under close affliction of the aspect of the Sun. Some short lived setbacks are likely due to transit affliction and in the sub periods of the Sun and Mars. It needs strengthening for reducing the malefic impact. It blesses the person with good education, wealth, properties and vehicles. Its weakness and affliction can result in stress in marital relationship and lack of mental peace during the sub period of Mars and during prolonged transit afflictions. When transit Rahu and Ketu caused a prolonged transit affliction to natal Rahu and Ketu the person faced serious problems in marital relationship and suffered from lack of mental peace between August, 2013, to December, 2013. Simultaneous to the prolonged nodal transit affliction, transit Jupiter also afflicted transit Saturn.
The Moon is lord of seventh house. The Moon rules marital relationship, business partnership and life in foreign lands. It is placed in the fifth house ruling intellect, progeny and gains through investments. Moon is weak as it is in infancy. It is well placed in the birth chart. It gives marriage but indicates concerns in marriage. During transit afflictions it causes stress in marital relationship and it causes problems in foreign lands. It needs to be strengthened for harnessing better results.
The Sun rules eighth house in the birth chart. It rules the marital bond, spiritual values, parental health, wealth, male child, inheritance and easy gains. It is placed in the third house ruling courage, communications and enterprises. The Sun is weak as it is in old age. It is well placed in the birth chart. It may cause problems to the significations ruled by it. The person may get some gains in the form of inheritance. The person has to be careful about his/her health.
Mercury rules the ninth house in the birth chart. It rules father, spiritual progress and fortune in general. It is placed in the third house ruling courage, communications and enterprises. Mercury is weak as it is in its sign of debilitation and in infancy. It is weak in the birth chart. It is afflicted by the close aspect of the functional malefic planet, Jupiter. It gives fortune setbacks, lack of confidence, problems to father, and stress in life.
Venus is the lord of the tenth house in the birth chart. It becomes prime determinant for professional matters. It is placed in the fifth house ruling intellect, progeny and gains through investments. Venus is fairly strong and well placed in the birth chart. It blesses the person with fairly good progress in the job and business which may be connected with the significations ruled by Venus. It blesses the person with good academic and professional knowledge. Some short lived setbacks are likely due to transit afflictions in professional and health matters. It needs strengthening for reducing the malefic impact.
Jupiter rules the twelfth house in the horoscope. Jupiter rules foreign lands, losses, expenses, problems with law, imprisonment and comforts of life which depend on the strength of Mars in the birth chart. It is placed in the seventh house ruling marriage, partnerships and living in foreign lands. Jupiter is weak as it is in infancy. It is well placed in the birth chart. Its weakness can cause mental stress in marital relationship and in foreign lands. This indicates problems in marriage during transit afflictions.
The persons born under this sign generally have dynamic professional approach if the prime determinant of professional matters is strong.
Every year during the months of June and July when transit Mercury, Venus and the Sun generally transit the sign Gemini this person become vulnerable to health problems, disputes and financial constraints. Similarly, the transit planets in Leo during the months of August and September cause obstructions while the transit planets in the sign Sagittarius during the months of December and January cause additional expenses, problems in marriage and problems in journeys/distant places.
When Rahu and Ketu cause afflictions in the birth chart or transit, they cause multiple and persisting challenges in life. Morning prayers, continuous propitiatory remedies for Rahu and Ketu and strengthening of weak planets generally help in warding off the evil influence of natal and transit Rahu and Ketu afflictions to a large extent.
Rahu and Ketu are unfavorable planets and bring challenges during their sub periods. In this case during the sub period of Ketu they threatened the continuity of married life during prolonged transit afflictions as stated above. They make the person vulnerable to anxiety, over-ambitiousness, sudden setbacks, undiagnosed health problems, loss of reputation, allergic disorders, losses through cheating, inflammation, professional setbacks, depression, strains in business relationship, persisting infections, losses through risky or speculative ventures, problems of black magic / evil spirits, litigation and sudden mishaps.
Continued propitiation of Rahu, Ketu, Jupiter and the Sun help significantly by reducing the level of afflictions caused by their placement in unfavorable houses and the current movement of planets.
The professional matters are governed by Venus, Saturn and the Sun. Saturn is strong while Venus is fairly strong. The Sun is weak. The person enjoys good professional success.
The health is governed by Saturn (acting as lord of the ascendant as there is no mooltrikona sign in the ascendant) Mars and the Moon. The Moon and Mars are weak in the birth chart. With strengthening astral measures and propitiatory astral remedies the health problems are likely to be controlled to a large extent.
The relationship matters are governed by Saturn, Mars and the Moon. Due to the weakness of the Moon and Mars, the relationships matters indicate stress in marital relationship.
During the coming years, most of the time, the person will be in the sub period of fairly strong Venus in the birth chart between March, 2014, to October, 2016. This sub period may be helpful in the matter of health, finances and relationship matters with the help of the strengthening and propitiatory remedies. The person is advised to manage the obstructions with patience.
The person is warned for the stressful spells of periods during the coming years. These necessitate due care. The regular propitiation of the functional malefic planets is advised to reduce the stress to a considerable extent.
Role of Astrology Remedies:
The horoscope tells us the periods and the types of sufferings one is likely to face, right at birth. The impact of unfavorable planetary influences can be reduced by performance of propitiatory astrological remedial measures. This will reduce the sufferings.
The incidence of delays, setbacks and denials is the result of the weak and/or afflicted planets in the birth chart. Such impacts can be dealt with by strengthening of birth weak/afflicted planets by a Special Power Kavach.
Favorable colors:- Shining black, white, silver, all shades of blue, green, red bright brown and variegated colors.
Unfavorable colors (Avoid use):- Steel grey, dull smoke grey, orange, pink, yellow and faded colors.
Favorable gemstones:- Blue sapphire, red coral, pearl, emerald, and diamond.
Unfavorable gemstones (Avoid use):- Gomedh, cat's eye, ruby and yellow sapphire.
1. Wearing of a special power Kavach to strengthen the weak and afflicted planets. The details can be seen on our website
2. Offering a pancake stuffed with sugar and fried or a brown cake in small pieces to crows/birds daily in the morning for Rahu.
3. Offering lunch to lepers on Fridays.
4. Donating to dog shelter twice a year for Ketu.
5. Offering Bundi Laddus/yellow colored sweet to crows/birds daily in the morning for Jupiter.
6. Donating for the old aged needy persons, once a year.
7. Giving food to hungry persons outside church or temple on Sundays.
Morning prayers after bath and before breakfast would also be quite useful.
Prof V K Choudhry also thrown light on the following topics:
1. AFFLICTED DISPOSITOR: If a dispositor is afflicted then the significations of the planets placed in the mooltrikona sign of the afflicted planet get damaged tremendously.
2. ULTIMATE DISPOSITOR: For identifying the strength of a planet the strength of ultimate dispositor should be considered.
3. EXACT NODAL AFFLICTION TO MEP OF HOUSES:
If Rahu and Ketu are on MEP then there are tremendous problems for the person and specially for houses whose lords are weak. The life remains challenging and the person becomes vulnerable to serious / critical illnesses. Application of astral remedies in such cases help tremendously. Case studies discussed included both for the results for such afflictions (a) where no astral remedies were performed and (b) where the astral remedies were performed.
4. EXACT MMP AFFLICTION. This affliction causes serious problems in life and a number of case studies were discussed on this topic.
5. Impact of changing sign by Jupiter, Rahu and Saturn were discussed and these can be seen at the following link:
http://www.yournetastrologer.com/home2.htm
Over the two days about 85 case studies were discussed to show the impact of the exact nodal afflictions to most effective points of houses and to the planets, exact afflictions of functional malefic planets on other planets and houses, mutual afflictions of functional malefic planets. All the participants actively participated in discussions and even presented the case studies from their records.
The participants will share their experiences and discuss techniques for making the astrological consultations more effective and meaningful.
Intricacies of the astrological advice were deliberated in the background of socio-economic, legal, psychological and cultural background of the person seeking astrological advice.
The participants got the opportunity to discuss case studies with other astrologers during technical sessions and lunch / tea breaks for sharpening their analytical skills.
