PART III-C:After-Noon Session on the Second Day [March 13th ]:

Some Additional CSs, Presented by the Delegates; Vote of Thanks; Professor Choudhry Awarding ‘Conference Plaques’:

In this Post Lunch Session, the first CS was that brought up by Sri A P Kaushik.

CS#1: [21st June, 1953, Gurgaon, 4:00AM, TZ=-05:30Hrs]

This Chart had a Taurus Asdt, with the MEP at 14º17?, and very significantly, with the MMP, Ju afflicting the Asdt within an orb of less than 2º30?.This individual passed away on Jan 5th, 2011[during the Sa-Ra sub-period], of esophagus cancer. He had been a Govt servant in the state of Haryana. When the MMP causes such a ‘close’ affliction, the SA immediately starts ringing the ‘alarm bells’. Such close affliction does not allow the person to have a full life span. The close/exact influence of MMP or the nodes make one vulnerable to cancer or critical diseases. A peep into the health DC, the D6, shows a badly afflicted D6, and the Ashtamsa DC [D8], governing Longevity, is under an ‘all round merciless affliction’ to its Asdt, from three FMs.

CS#2: [21st Feb, 1995, 3:50PM, Hyderabad (78ºE29?,17ºN23?), TZ=-05:30Hrs]

This CS was presented by Sri Naval Kishore, who mentioned that the mother of this girl, teaches in a Central School, and that the young girl suddenly took ill in 2010, and medical diagnosis, sadly revealed blood cancer. The Q, that was posed to the Professor was this-whether the young girl had any chances of survival?

Professor Choudhry was looking intently at the Chart, and after a while he made the following pronouncement: “There can be a chance of survival, but afflictions are serious. Let them do the remedies regularly.” [the MMP, Sa ‘exactly’ afflicted the PD of health, for a Cancer Asdt Chart, Ju; and the other PD, the Mo was very weak, because of the ‘Dispositor’s Dispositor’s Affliction’]. SA sutra referred in CS#1 above is applicable in this chart, as well.

CS#3: [22nd, Oct, 1962, 7:30AM, TZ=-05:30Hrs, Gurgaon (77ºE00?, 28ºN28?)]

In this Libra Asdt Chart, we see a ‘nearly strong’ Asdt Lord Ve, well-placed in the IIH, a strong XIIH Lord, Me, well-placed in its own MTH, but ‘exactly’ afflicting the VIH; also, a deb Ma, as VIIH Lord, 99% afflicted by the Nodes, and a Sa, as VH Lord, 93% afflicted by the Nodes. The Mo was almost 100% strong as the XH Lord, while Ju, suffered from acute weakness, due to the ‘Dispositor’s Affliction’.

Sri A P Kaushik, who presented this CS, reminded us that, triggered by a fall in the bathroom, the lady entered into a state of coma, and that this CS was already presented in a previous SA Intl Conference. As the husband of the lady was in the Army, he said, she has now been lying in a continued state of coma in that Army hospital, for the last one year, and so, asked Professor Choudhry for his prognosis? The Professor, looking at the Chart said, “Difficult to reach normalcy in view of the exact affliction to Saturn and Mars in the natal chart.” SA sutra referred in CS#1 above is applicable in this chart, as well.

CS#4: [22nd, May, 1982, 04:02AM, TZ=7Hrs, PDT, San Francisco (122ºW25?, 37ºN47?)]

Yes, this is Dr Jonathan Miller’s second CS. He dwelt more on the first CS, which was covered in PART III-B of the Proceedings, and more briefly on the other two CSs, which are appearing in this PART III-C. Here, you are seeing a Pisces Asdt Chart, and if you are a SA astrologer, your heart may miss a beat, or you may jump. The MMP, Ve, is seen to cause an exact affliction to the Asdt house and the VIIH also. Even Natal Sa, from the VIIH is closely afflicting Natal Ra in the IVH. The two FMs, Sa and Ve also mutually [‘closely’] afflict each other. Me’s MTH is also afflicted. We know that in the SA, the variables which control the strength of the Immune System are the XIIH Lord, Sa and the Mo. We must also remember the newly introduced ‘Auto Immune Regulation’ of Me. The Sign Pisces, because it is the 12th Sign, also governs the Lymphatic System, which fights infections, and which is also therefore the Immune System.

Dr J Miller mentioned that there was too much of inflammatory activity, and even severe reactivity to food. Professor Choudhry agreed to this, for in his perception, the MMP’s affliction to the Asdt and Me’s MTH, can give any kind of Auto Immune deficiency. When we turn our attention to the D6 DC, we are in for another shock, because it is again a Pisces Asdt, with the MMP, Ve still afflicting the Asdt and VIIH, in the same way. Me, ‘which must be tracked’ in CSs, such as this, is seen to be under the very difficult affliction of three FMs. SA sutra referred in CS#1 above is applicable in this chart, as well.

CS#5: [14th Oct, 1987, 19:45Hrs, Batinda (74ºE56?, 30ºN12?), TZ=-05:30Hrs]

This is seen to be a Taurus Asdt Chart with the MEP at 1º 32?.It was presented by Sri Naval Kishore. The PD of progeny in the SA is Me, for this Asdt, which is weak in the VIH. Even Ju, which is the ‘putrakaraka’ or significator of male progeny, is seen to be weak in the XIIH, and also afflicting so many Hs. Professor Choudhry’s remarks, in reply to the Q, as to why there is so much delay in the fructification of progeny, were to the effect, that all Remedial Measures ought to be continued. He was hopeful that Remedial Measures would enhance the Divine Grace in the sphere of progenic matters.

CS#6: [7th Aug, 1953, 5:15AM, Delhi (77ºE13?, 28ºN40?), TZ=-05:30Hrs]

This was the second CS presented by Sri Deepak Kapoor. It was a Cancer Asdt Chart, with the MEP at 13º38?.While presenting this CS, he said, four of this individual’s family members had recently died, and that this had left him in very low spirits. The individual was a lawyer by profession [See Ma, Me and Su in the Asdt house], we were told. Both parents were also civil servants, working for the Govt of India. The lord of the house of family is weak due to placement in an afflicted house and Jupiter closely afflicting the eighth lord which rules the longevity of the parents, as well.

We may understand the emotional depression, as the IVH Lord and the significator of the IVH were badly placed in the XIIH and the lord of VIIIH is closely afflicted. Ve as the Lord of the IVH, and the Mo, when strong, would have given by contrast, emotional well-being, which is the opposite of emotional depression.

CS#7: [19th Jan, 1984, 3:49AM, TZ=-05:30Hrs, Mumbai]

This was a Scorpio Asdt Chart, with the MEP at 15º16?.The IIH Lord, Ju, the XIH Lord, Me, the IXH Lord, Mo were all strong FBs, and even Ra and Ke were strong and exalted. Even the Su, as the Lord of the XH, was nearly fully strong. So, Colonel Sri B K Kailash, who presented the CS, asked the Professor, what factors in such a good Chart as this, were responsible for creating marital delay?

Professor Choudhry observed that ever since she attained marriageable age, she started the Sa sub-period from January 2009. Sa was badly placed in the XIIH in the RC, while it was deb in the Navamsa DC. So, the weakness of the sub-period Lord is what created the delay.”

CS#8: [6th Dec, 1983, 6:20AM, Delhi (77ºE13’, 28ºN40?), TZ=-05:30Hrs]

This was a CS, presented by Sri Rakesh Sharma. It showed a Scorpio Asdt, with the MEP at 10º 15?.The Asdt had a strong Su, exalted Ke, and a 50% strong, combust Ju. Su and Ju were FBs. It was mentioned that, this man was in a romantic relationship, which evolved into a ‘Love Marriage’. Once he got married, he promptly fell into depression!

As my notes on this CS were scanty, I turned to the Professor, seeking, how best we may understand this CS? He was kind enough to share his view, which I am presenting below in verbatim form, for the benefit of the delegates:

“I do feel that this case needed birth rectification and the ascendant should be around 13 degrees. This will give the birth time as 6.35 AM. The close influence of Mars on the fifth house makes him passionate. This will also show the conflicts in this marriage at both stages before and after which comes through the close aspect (influence) of Mars to the second and fifth houses. Initially, girl’s parents were not agreeable for marriage and after the love marriage; they accepted the marriage after some time.

“The marriage took place on 7th October, 2009. At the time of marriage there were multiple transit afflictions. Rahu was afflicting Mars, Saturn and Mercury.

“The strong Sun gave quite good success in career and strong Venus gave flair for performing arts. The person is working as Assistant Director of production in film industry.

“With the change of the ascending degree, the DCs would also change”.

CS#9: [18th May, 1987, 19:04Hrs, TZ=-02:00Hrs, EET; (2ºE15?, 48ºN53?)]

This was another CS, presented by Dr Jonathan Miller. It was a Libra Asdt Chart, with the MEP at 8º17?.The Doctor explained that here was another case of Auto Immune deficiency, and there was straightaway SA Light on this-as the XIIH Lord, Me, was not only badly placed in the Malefic VIIIH, this Me was also exactly afflicted by Ke, from the XIIH. Such an affliction shows a very weak Immune System. Ju was also weak, as it was placed in the VIH, and it ruled the IIIH of vitality. Fortunately, at least the Mo, the XIIH significator in these matters [in the SA] was strong. SA sutra referred in CS#1 above is applicable in this chart, as well.

CS#10: [29th Sept, 1949, 4:39AM, (77ºE40?, 29ºN28?), TZ=-05:30Hrs]

A CS, presented by Sri A P Kaushik - that of an individual, who had a health setback, due to chronic liver failure. Even though Ju is in its own MTS, the 87% weakness, due to old age is serious enough - this is the most significant thing about the SA- even a ‘single’ weakness, if serious enough, as in this case, will create problems in life [SA Sutra].

Ra-Ke are causing exact afflictions to the IIH and VIIIH, and even to Me. In addition, Ke afflicts the VIH closely. Even Ma is afflicted by a highly Malefic Ra closely. During the Ra-Mo sub-period [Ra in the VIIIH, afflicting exactly the VIIIH and the IIH, and other Hs], in Jan 2011, the individual was hospitalized and he was put on the ventilator. When Sri A P Kaushik was stressing that the individual also had money problems in life, that was intelligible, as the IIH MEP, and even the IIH Lord were exactly afflicted. SA sutra referred in CS#1 above is applicable in this chart, as well.

CS#11: [20th Oct, 1966, 12:17PM, TZ=4:00Hrs, EDT, (70ºW56?, 41ºN38?)]

This was the 4th CS, presented by Dr Jonathan Miller, under the general head of ‘Auto Immune System’ dysfunction. He was a Navy Pilot, by profession, and because of fluid accumulation in his inner ears, had to discontinue his professional work. Afflictions to the Mo from Ra and afflictions to Me, from both Ke and Ra, caused this Auto Immune System deficiency. This was just given for illustration of such maladies.

After this CS, Professor Choudhry requested Colonel Sri B K Kailash to give the vote of thanks. It was a pleasure to hear him speak-he was clear and deliberate. The essence of his talk, revolved round the theme, that just astrological proficiency and skill, was not, all that he had learnt from the Professor, over these years. He was profoundly grateful to the Professor, and recalled one of the simple but very vital Sutras of the Professor, namely, that ‘To be a good Astrologer, the Astrologer, must be virtuous in his daily life’. Interestingly, Colonel Kailash couched his message in the form of two parables of ancient wisdom. I am reproducing them here, for your sheer delight of all the delegates:

“Santa Singh goes to ‘Halwai’ (Sweet Meat Shop), and asks the ‘Halwai’ to pour one litre of cow’s milk into a small pot carried by him. Halwai saw the pot & said, ‘How can I pour one litre of cow’s milk into this small container?’ Santa Singh thought for a while and said, ‘Alright you may pour goat’s milk.’

“This may appear to be a simple joke, but there is a very big lesson hidden in it. Albeit, Guruji Prof Choudhry has imparted a store house of knowledge to us, but our intake will purely depend upon ‘the size of our vessel’. Prof has repeatedly indicated the importance of virtues & purity of life of a successful astrologer.

“In other words, the knowledge imparted by Guruji Professor Choudhry, can be compared to a cheque book or a debit card, but the encashment/draw of cash will depend of the Cash Ledger Balance in the account. So let us create Account balance through a virtuous & pure life & spread the efficacy of The Systems Approach.

“Professor’s unconditional & universal loving kindness towards all of us may be described through another short parable:

“Once Muni Sri Naradji told Bhagavan Vishnu that he had seen a Saint on the Earth. Bhagavan Vishnu ignored him, knowing his deliberate ‘provocations’. But on insistence from Muni Sri Naradji, Bhagavan came down to Earth & quietly observed the Saint. Having been convinced that the Saint was genuine, Bhagavan Vishnu appeared before him & offered to bless him with whatever he asked for. The Saint was overwhelmed with the gracious offer, but declined to seek any, after pondering over & said, ‘Thank you Bhagavan for your gracious appearance, I have no needs’.

“Bhagavan Vishnu was for once surprised & insisted that the Saint must seek a blessing. On this the Saint replied, ‘Bhagavan, I can’t think of anything that I need. You as Bhagavan can assess my need & bless me accordingly’. On this, Bhagavan said, ‘Okay, I shall bless you with a unique blessing, in that; you are empowered that you may keep helping others throughout your life’. On hearing this, the Saint was terrified, started trembling and grievingly said, Bhagavan, neither consciously or unconsciously, I remember to have caused any sin, then why this untold curse is being flung upon me’. Bhagavan was utterly surprised said, ‘curse? This is the biggest blessing I am giving to any one so far. Can’t you serve & help others?’ ‘Others? Who are others? Vasudhaiv Kuttumbhkam, the entire manifestation is One, these trees & shrubs are mine, these animals are mine, all humans are mine, where are the others? And if there are no others, then my life is useful when I can't help/serve my brotheren. I shall be untoward cursed. Why this curse on me, my Bhagavan?’

“Now Bhagavan Vishnu realized the strategic mistake that He had made and said, ‘Okay, we shall modify the blessing, in that, wherever you go, wherever your shadow falls, everyone will automatically get liberated.’

“Now the Saint was very happy & thanked Bhagavan for the unique merciful blessing, but quickly added, ‘Bhagavan, but I have a condition.’ Bhagavan Vishnu got cautious, ‘What condition now?’

“Saint said, ‘Kindly take my memory back, so that I don’t remember as to where all I went and who all were liberated through me.’

“The Saint of this story aptly fits our gracious Guruji, Prof V K Choudhry, who is an ocean of knowledge & imparts it without any distinction amongst his students. “Love Peace Harmony Abundance”

Finally he said, connecting things, “Professor Choudhry, our revered Master has helped us all so much, but never given us the feeling that he has helped us.”

CS#12: [11th Nov, 1982, 8:19Hrs, (80ºE17?, 13ºN005?), TZ=-05:30Hrs]

This CS was presented by me, as it was particularly difficult. It was a Scorpio Asdt Chart with the MEP at 24º16?.There were too many Planets (5) in the XIIH, and both significators of the husband, Ju and Su were almost ‘exactly’ afflicted by the MMP, Ve. The Su was even Deb. As soon as Professor Choudhry saw the Chart, he was ‘so shocked’, that he asked, whose Chart it was? I explained that the parents[North Indians settled in Chennai] of this young lady are looking out for this girl, for a life partner, and are doing the Remedial Measures, for the last two or three yrs, but nothing has materialized. Professor’s verdict was obviously not encouraging: “Difficult for the marriage to fructify. The individual should continue with the Remedial Measures which can only bring a blessing sometime.”

CS#13: [Chart of India, again]

Professor Choudhry’s Prediction for India in 2011:

This was a SA prediction that the Professor was giving, for the Natal Chart of India, for this year 2011.He said: “Firstly between April, 15th and Aug 15th, when Tr Deb Nodes will become stationary around 28º-29º, in Scorpio [Ra] and Taurus [Ke], Rahu will cause a TSA [Tr Stationary Affliction] to the Natal Su, and consequently, it will be a difficult time for India, and that the Govt will continue to suffer”. Then again, he said: “There is another TSA, which will occur, between Oct 15th , 2011, and Jan 15th 2012, when the Deb Nodes again become stationary around 20º. This latter case, they will afflict Natal Sa and Natal Ve. “These TSAs are capable of rocking the Govt, and then, even a change in the ruling Govt, can come to pass. On the whole the country will pass through a difficult phase.” In the case of the first TSA, it will occur in the Su-Ra sub-period, and in the case of the second TSA, it will transpire in the sub-period of Ju.

Sri Ashutosh Pandey asked a Q, regarding which particular Foreign Countries, may be indicated for a given Chart-for overseas residence, and/or overseas travels?

To this exceedingly general Q, Professor mentioned the appropriate SA answer briefly. Those who do have more specific Qs, may go over to: “Systems Approach for Interpreting Horoscopes”, Pgs 216-217 and 322 to 326, where, Professor V K Choudhry and Sri Rajesh Chaudhary have dealt with several pertinent Qs, with that ‘crystal clarity’, that is ubiquitous in all the works of the Professor.

CS#14: [19th May, 1973, 15:33Hrs, TZ=4Hrs EDT, (76ºW36?, 39ºN17?)]

This was the last of Dr J Miller’s four CSs. Weak Virgo Asdt Chart, with the MEP at 9º 42. Asdt Lord Me is exactly afflicted by the FM, Su. The MMP, Ma, also afflicts exactly, Ve, ruling the IIH. Though the XIIH Lord is strong, yet the Mo is weak. Me, Ma, and Ju are weak and badly afflicted in the D6 DC. Such grievous affliction to Me, indicates ‘Auto Immune Deficiency’ [SA Sutra by now]. As Ju was deb in RC and D6, the liver was inflamed. Ke’s exact affliction to Ma, resulted in a number of surgeries and inflammation in the VIH region. Professor Choudhry’s verdict was straightforward: “The prognosis is bad”.

Professor Choudhry Presented the Delegates with Aesthetic Conference Mementoes, Embossed on Plaques, having a ‘Gold Finish’:

At this year’s SA Conference, the conventional Certificates were not awarded, but ‘aesthetically crafted ornamented metal mementoes, with an attractive gold-finish’ were awarded, on which the Certificates and names of each delegate were embossed, in calligraphic script. Every delegate therefore had the pleasure of receiving this Certification, directly from the hands of the beloved Professor Choudhry. The whole concluding function was videographed and recorded.

All the delegates not only freely made their contributions to the Conference, importantly, they also received the light of astrological knowledge from Professor Choudhry, to their heart-felt satisfaction. It goes without saying that every delegate would have felt touched and grateful to Professor V K Choudhry, and Sri Rajesh Chaudhary, for having excellently organized this annual SA Conference, and given us so much joy in our endless learning of the SA.

Prof Choudhry and Sri Rajesh Chaudhary were marvelous hosts, for Dr Jonathan Miller and myself; when on the 10th of March, they went out of their way, to give both of us, that extraordinary Darshan of ‘Swami Narayan’s Akshardham’ on the banks of the Yamuna, and that too, with their spiritual satsang as the take home prasad for both of us - a prasad, whose sweet taste, will often come back to kindle our hearts, till the end of our earthly sojourns.
