Problems in Marriage

The problems in marriage are shown by the afflictions caused by the functional malefic planet(s) to one or more of the following weak and badly placed planets/houses :-

-The MEP of the houses signifying marriage, which are the seventh, eighth and twelfth houses.

-The planets ruling the houses signifying marriage.

-Jupiter as significator for the husband.

-Venus as significator for marriage.

-The sign Libra which is the seventh house of the natural zodiac.

The weak planets delay the marriage while the weak and afflicted planets becoming significators of marriage cause marriage problems. We shall discuss the issue further with the help of case studies.

The sign Gemini, rises in the ascendant and the planets Rahu and Ketu are the functional malefic planets.  The lord of the seventh house Jupiter, is badly placed in the chart and is hence weak.   Rahu-Ketu axis is near the most effective points of the houses and afflicts all the houses occupied and aspected.  Saturn and Venus are combust and are vulnerable to the transit malefic influences.  The weakness of the lord of the seventh house had delayed the marriage of the native.  The onset of the main period of Ketu, influencing the most effective points of the houses pertaining to the marriage caused separation.  The native sought astral help in the sub period of Rahu in the main period of Ketu. The native was advised both propitiatory astral remedies for the functional malefic planets and wearing of a Kavach for strengthening the weak functional benefic planets in an auspiciously elected time. But the weakness of Jupiter came in the way of performance of astral remedies and the problem of the native continues.  As Rahu is on the most effective point of the fourth house during the sub period of Rahu without the performance of the astral remedies no relief is seen.

The sign Gemini rises in the ascendant and the planets Rahu and Ketu are the functional malefic planets.  The lord of the seventh house, Jupiter, is badly placed in the chart and is hence weak.   Rahu-Ketu axis is near the most effective points of the houses and afflicts all the houses occupied and aspected, besides closely afflicting the planets Mars, Mercury and the Sun.  The close affliction to the lord of the fourth house and the Sun resulted in the early death of the father.  The influence of Rahu on Mars in the fourth house and on the lord of the fourth house, Mercury, and the lord of the third house, the Sun, has involved the native in an emotional relationship with a married person. The person concerned has an eye on her assets as the influence of Rahu and Ketu on the lord of the fourth house and on the most effective point of the fourth house does indicate loss of assets. But the native does not see his plans and is not willing to pay any attention to her mother's advice.  Venus, the lord of the fifth house ruling intelligence, is weak as it is in the state of infancy.  This relationship was developed in the sub period of Ketu and the main period of Rahu.  The good placement of the lord of the second house blessed the native with good family background and education but the operating period of Rahu/Ketu and their afflictions did their own job.  The astral help was sought by one of her relations but change in the circumstances can only be introduced with the performance of astral remedies, which the native has to perform.  In this case, too, the weakness of Jupiter, the afflictions and the operating planetary period do not allow the native to perform astral remedies for deriving benefits.

The sign, Taurus, rises in the ascendant and the planets Mars, Venus, Jupiter, Rahu and Ketu are the functional malefic planets.  The planets Mercury and Venus are badly placed in the chart and are hence weak.  Rahu and Ketu closely afflict Mars, Jupiter and Saturn.  The prime significator for marriage, the Sun, is weak as it is in the state of infancy.  The significator for wife is badly placed.  The functional malefic planet, Venus, closely afflicts Mercury, the lord of the fifth house.  The functional malefic planet Mars closely afflicts Mercury, Venus and Saturn.  The most malefic planet Jupiter closely afflicts the Sun and the lord of the twelfth house.  The weakness and affliction of the fourth lord not only delayed the marriage but caused immediate problems in the marriage resulting in a divorce.  The prasna was raised in the sub period of Rahu in the main period of the badly placed and afflicted, Mercury, regarding remarriage and its success.  The native was advised appropriate astrological remedial measures.  The weakness of Jupiter, in this case, too, indicates doubts in the sincere performance of suggested astral remedies.  The natives were also  warned that since the planetary configurations are such, there would be difficulties in the way of performance of the astral remedies. If they want to benefit, they will have to overpower the obstructions and ensure proper performance of the simple remedies.

The sign Virgo rises in the ascendant and the planets, the Sun, Saturn, Mars, Rahu and Ketu are the functional malefic planets. The lord of the eighth house is placed in the eighth house itself.  Mercury is badly placed in the chart and is hence weak.  The functional malefic planets, the Sun and Saturn, are near to the most effective points of the ninth and seventh houses, respectively, and afflict all the houses occupied and aspected.  The functional malefic planet, Saturn, afflicts the planet, the Sun.  The functional malefics, Rahu and Ketu, do not cause any close afflictions in the chart.  The affliction of the Sun and the most effective point of the ninth house by the lord of the sixth house resulted into difference of opinion with the father.  During the sub period of Mars in the main period of Jupiter, the native developed friendship with a boy not liked by her father.  The lord of the eighth house in its sub period gives urges for physical pleasures.  The influence of the lord of the sixth house on the mid-point of the seventh house did not keep the relationship cordial even with the boy friend.  Difference of opinion persisted.  The following sub period of Rahu could not give the clear cut direction to the native.  But as the lord of the fourth house is placed in the fourth house, Jupiter, the native was trying to solicit the advice of others, including astrology for solving her emotional problem as the sub period of Rahu was coming to an end.  The native was advised both propitiatory astral remedies for the functional malefic planets and wearing of a Kavach for strengthening the weak functional benefic planets in an auspiciously elected time.

The sign Capricorn rises in the ascendant and the planets Jupiter, the Sun, Rahu and Ketu are the functional malefic planets.  The lords of the fourth and tenth houses, Mars and Venus, are badly placed.   The lord of the seventh house, the Moon, is under the close afflicting influence of Rahu and Ketu.  Jupiter is weak as it is in the state of old age.  The lord of the second house is well placed strongly in the second house. As per prasna, the sub period of the Moon in the main period of Ketu was in operation. The prasna directly related to the afflicted lord of the seventh house.  The good placement of the lord of the second house did indicate that the marital bond was in tact but the weakness of the lord of the twelfth house indicated separations.  The lady wanted to know when the reunion of the family was to be.  As the sub periods of the Moon, Mars, Rahu and Jupiter do not show good hope, the sub period of Saturn was indicated as the possible time of the reunion of the family.  The native was advised both propitiatory astral remedies for the functional malefic planets and wearing of a Kavach for strengthening the weak functional benefic planets in an auspiciously elected time.

The sign Cancer rises in the ascendant and the planets Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu are the functional malefic planets.  The planets Mercury, Venus and the Sun are badly placed in the chart and are, hence, weak.  Mercury is further weak as it is in the state of infancy.  Saturn, too, is weak as it is in the state of infancy.  Rahu and Ketu closely afflict  Moon and Venus.  As per prasna, the sub period of Rahu in its own main period was in operation.  Rahu's affliction to the lord of the ascendant and the lord of the fourth house placed in the twelfth house indicated that the native was completely in the grip of Rahu's influences. He was always craving for material comforts, intoxication and physical pleasures without bothering about morals.  The placement of the lord of the second house in the twelfth house and the affliction of the lord of the fourth house did not show marital happiness.  The querent was advised accordingly. The sign Leo rises in the ascendant and the planets, the Moon, Rahu and Ketu are the functional malefic planets.  The lord of the fifth house is debilitated Jupiter. The lord of the seventh house, Saturn, and Ketu are badly placed.  The most malefic planet, the Moon, is conjunct with the most effective point of the second house.  The primary determinant of marriage, Mercury, is well placed, in close conjunction with the lord of the third house and is indicative of saving the marriage through one's own efforts.  As per prasna, the sub period of Venus in the main period of the Sun was in operation.  The sub period of Ketu, which is involved in a close aspect with the most malefic planet, the Moon, in the second house, had created misunderstanding and separation in the couple.  The native was advised both propitiatory astral remedies for the functional malefic planets and wearing of a Kavach for strengthening the weak functional benefic planets in an auspiciously elected time.

The performance of suggested astrological remedies did show

encouraging improvement.  The couple was reunited in early May 1997.

The sign Leo rises in the ascendant and the planets the Moon, Rahu and Ketu are the functional malefic planets.  Jupiter, the lord of the fifth house, Saturn, the lord of the seventh house and Ketu are badly placed in the chart.  The Moon is weak as it is in its sign of debilitation.  The most effective points of the fourth and tenth houses are closely afflicted in this chart due to the close conjunction and aspect of the most malefic planet, the Moon, respectively.  The close influence of the lord of the fifth house on the most effective point of the second house and of the lord of the twelfth house on the most effective point of the fourth house shows deep inclinations for marriage on one's own.  Other supporting factors are strong Mars placed in the ascendant and the aspect of the lord of the third house to the third house.  The functional malefics, Rahu and Ketu, do not cause any close afflictions in the chart.  The native's parents were caught unawares when she suddenly announced her decision to marry  a boy of her choice.  As per prasna, the sub period of Rahu in the main period of the second lord was in operation.  In view of the forthcoming sub period of Jupiter, it was advised that the native was not likely to change her mind.  However, to maintain the marital alliance, the parents of the native were advised both propitiatory astral remedies for the functional malefic planets and wearing of a Kavach for strengthening the weak functional benefic planets in an auspiciously elected time.

The affliction of Venus by Rahu is clearly indicative of the disturbance of marital harmonious relationship by the attributes of Rahu. Nevertheless, the marital relationship is not threatened due to the strong placement of the Sun, the lord of the second house, in the chart.  The husband of the native indulged in excessive intoxication, thus disturbing domestic peace.   The native was advised both propitiatory astral remedies for the functional malefic planets and wearing of a Kavach for strengthening the weak functional benefic planets in an auspiciously elected time.  The performance of suggested astrological remedies started showing encouraging improvement.

The query pertained to marriage in which delay was indicated due to the bad placement of the lord of the seventh house.  The native was advised both propitiatory astral remedies for the functional malefic planets and wearing of a Kavach for strengthening the weak functional benefic planets in an auspiciously elected time.  The marriage of the native took place on  2nd July 1995, with the help of astral remedies in the sub period of Mercury itself.
